PUSPAKOM

PUSPAKOM is Malaysia's vehicle inspection specialist. Their inspections protect motorists and increase road safety.

"Your Safety, Our Priority"

Our roads are getting congested. The number of vehicles on Malaysian roads is increasing approximately 1 million per year. It is important that vehicles are fit for the road, to keep us all moving smoothly.

There are several types of Inspection of PUSPAKOM:

a. Initial Inspection

Before a new commercial vehicle can be registered with the Road Transport Department (RTD), or before the ownership of a vehicle can be transferred to another person, PUSPAKOM must verify that it complies with the legal standards set out in the Road Transport Act 1987, Motor Vehicles (Construction and Use) Rules 1959.

b. Routine Inspection

It is a mandatory requirement for all commercial vehicles to undergo a Routine Inspection at PUSPAKOM every 6 months, in order to certify compliance to the Road Transport Act 1987. During this inspection we will check the legality and road worthiness of the vehicle.

c. Re-Inspection

If your vehicle does not meet the requirements and standards of an Initial, Special or Routine Inspection, and fails, you will be required to rectify the problem(s) and come back for a re-inspection. We will re-inspect the previously failed item(s).

d. Special Inspection

If a commercial or private vehicle undergoes a change of engine, chassis or body specification, or a laden weight upgrade, it will need to undergo a special inspection at PUSPAKOM. This is a legal requirement to confirm the vehicle's physical condition and identity after the modifications have been made.

e. Transfer of Ownership Inspection

Prior to its ownership transfer, all private vehicles must undergo a mandatory inspection. At the end of the inspection we will issue a B5 report, which will be required by JPJ when transferring ownership of vehicle.

f. Government Vehicle Inspection

All government vehicles are encouraged to undergo inspections to ascertain the road worthiness of the vehicle and that its compliance with the Road Transport Act 1987.

g. Voluntary Inspection

PUSPAKOM encourage private vehicle owners to have their vehicles inspected at PUSPAKOM to ensure that it is road worthy and that it complies with the Road Transport Act 1987.

h. Valuation Inspection

PUSPAKOM will carry out legal and physical checks on vehicles to protect buyers, sellers, and loan providers. This inspection included an assessment of te current market value of the vehicle.

Owner can choose to submit vehicle for a 3-Point Valuation Inspection, which consists of visual checks, or a more thorough 8-Point Valuation Inspection which has an additional 5 checks on the technical features of the vehicle.

When a vehicle is inherited, Amanah Raya Berhad will require an 8-Point Valuation Inspection report from PUSPAKOM in order to ascertain the value of the vehicle. In this case, please adhere to the process advised by Amanah Raya.

i. Auction Inspection

'Auction Inspection' refers to the inspection of a vehicle prior to, or immediately after, being auctioned off. PUSPAKOM will carry out a physical inspection to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

j. Imported Vehicle Inspection For Customs (IVIC)

PUSPAKOM currently has deployed implementing units at all major Malaysian ports to inspect imported vehicles on their arrival into Malaysia, on behalf of the Royal Malaysian Customs. The IVIC inspection, also known as the B6 inspection, covers all categories of imported vehicles, including new, used and reconditioned vehicles.

These inspections are currently carried out at all entry points into Malaysia specifically Northport and Westport in Port Klang, Kota Kinabalu Port in Sabah and the Kuching Port in Sarawak. We also offer the B2 inspection, together with the B6 inspection, if so requested by the vehicle importers and agents.

k. Hire Purchase Inspection (HPI)

The HPI was introduced in June 2011 and was made compulsory under the law, in an effort to protect buyers of used vehicles from buying illegal or unroadworthy vehicles.

Any individual or organisation applying for a loan to purchase a used vehicle will need to show that the ehicle has undergone a Hire Purchase Inspection by producing a B7 report issued by PUSPAKOM. This Inspection includes 18 specific checks, a combination of identity checks and physical checks.

l. Insurance Inspection

If your vehicle is damaged in an accident and you make an insurance claim for the cost of the repairs, your insurance provider will request for an Insurance Inspection. PUSPAKOM will inspect the vehicle after the repairs have been made to ensure that they have been carried out properly and that the vehicle is now safe to drive.

This inspection looks for evidence of cut-and-join repair work in particular. Once the vehicle has passed the inspection, the motor insurance company can process the renewal of your third party insurance.

HONDA CB1000R 2013

Just one look tells you the CB1000R recreates the classic Honda formula for high performance in an unfaired four-cylinder bike-a design that has been well tested and validated over the years.

The clean, essentials-only format perfectly frames the fuel-injected four-cylinder 998cc powerplant that's fairly overflowing with loads of right-now power. The unique chassis incorporates a single-sided swingarm with a high-performance single-shock rear suspension that helps make the CB1000R an exclusive choice in today's market. Whether you call it a naked bike, a street fighter or a race bike in civilian clothes, the CB1000R serves as an all-around high-performance motorcycle that's ready to take you where you want to go.

The formula is simple: We built a special chassis that puts the 998cc engine out front and center, and lets you sit more upright. The result is one of the most versatile open-class bikes the world has ever seen, as comfortable on a long trip as it is confident on the boulevard. When you need one bike that can do it all, and do it exceedingly well, the CB1000R is the machine you want in your corner.

The stunning CB1000R packs exhilarating litre-class Super Sports performance into a compact and muscular-looking form that looks fast even standing still. It delivers breathtaking acceleration, light, responsive handling and invigorating thrills at every twist of its throttle. This is combined with smooth, easy control and nimble handling that's just as enjoyable along winding roads as it is on city streets.

In 2011 the CB1000R was refreshed and updated with a new thicker aluminium handlebar and a new LED position light. In 2013 a brand new Matt White colour version further enhances its image as one of the most exciting and well designed Performance Naked machines on the road.

Superbike Heart.

The CB1000R is built around a superbike-strong 998cc DOHC inline four engine that’s perfect for street riding, with plenty of torque and power on tap. Since it’s a four cylinder, it’s plenty smooth for longer rides too.

When You’ve Got It, Flaunt It.

It’d be a shame to cover up an engine like the CB1000R’s, so we’ve put it out front and center so you and everyone else can enjoy it. Then our designers gave the CB1000R just enough styling touches (side radiator shrouds, fork-mounted cowl fairing, cast aluminum four-spoke wheels) to really set it apart. Check it out—everyone else will.

Great Bones.

The CB1000R offers exceptional handling, thanks to a Gravity Die Cast mono-backbone aluminum chassis that’s light and strong. A fully adjustable inverted fork and adjustable Pro Link rear suspension with a single-sided swing arm further refine the handling package.

How Important of the Car Insurance!

Three Lamborghini Supercars Crash And Burn In Malaysia

I believe that most of you already read this news. Three people from Singapore are officially having the worst day ever. Friday morning, three Lamborghini owners from Singapore joined a supercar cruise in Malaysia and unfortunately crashed into each other on the North-South Expressway near Seremban. The owners were part of a five supercar convoy, but three of them, an Aventador and two Gallardos were involved in the wreck. All three cars burning to the ground. Thankfully, the owners were uninjured.

According to Malaysia's Berita Haria, the five supercars were on their way to Kuala Lumpur when a local driver swerved into the convoy unexpectedly, causing the driver of one of the Lamborghini's to lose control of his car and slam into the median. Unfortunately the driver was in the middle of the convoy and the two other cars behind him ended up crashing into him after he crashed into the median. Within minutes all three Lamborghinis were on fire and burned to the ground, but the best news is that no one was hurt.

The owners may have difficulty replacing their cars, as Lamborghini has finished building the Gallardo and is gearing up for a replacement. The new car, believed to be called the Cabrera, is expected to have a V10 engine mounted to a new twin-clutch transmission and all wheel drive.

The charity drive disaster came less than a week after. The Fast and the Furious star Paul Walker and his friend Roger Rodas died when their Porsche Carrera GT crashed and exploded into flames in California. Car fires have made headlines throughout 2013 thanks to a spate of incidents affecting the battery-powered Tesla Model S, while Ferrari's 458 Italia was the subject of unwanted publicity when several of its cars burnt in 2012

With the damage to all three cars estimated around $1.9 million, lets hope that the local Malaysian driver that triggered the mayhem was caught. Watch the destruction in the video below. You'll may want to sit down for this:

FLOOD AND MOTOR INSURANCE

Rain please go away ~~~~~

Heavy rains in  Malaysia has raised concerns among motorists of the risks of their vehicles being submerged in flood water. Despite having to take precautions such as avoiding parking their vehicles in the lower parking levels which are susceptible to floods and avoiding the areas prone to flooding during heavy rains, vehicle owners still face the risk of rising flood waters. It may be worthwhile to ascertain if our motor insurance policies have coverage for claims for flood-related damages.

In general, comprehensive car insurance policy provides compensation for damage or loss to the vehicle due to accidental fire, theft or an accident. However, damage caused by floods considered as natural disasters and damage as a result of flood are not listed as a risk covered under motor insurance policy. Among the damage or loss caused by floods that is not covered are:
  • damage to a vehicle submerged in flood
  • loss of vehicle due to drift during floods
  • fire and explosion due to flood water entered the vehicle
In addition to floods, other natural disasters are not covered including:
  • earthquake and its string of situations such as tidal waves / tsunamis
  • landslides (and the sequence such as gas explosions or fires as a results of electrical interference due to landslides)
  • storm (and the sequence such as damage caused by vehicles struck by lighting during a storm).
However, vehicle owners can purchase additional protection against damage or loss caused by floods by extending their coverage when purchasing their motor insurance policies. This coverage also applies to other natural disaster risks such as earthquakes, landslides and thunderstorms..

This additional protection will cost vehicle owners an additional premium of 0.5% of the sum insured. For example, if the sum insured is RM50,000, vehicle owners will be charged an additional premium of RM250.
